reviews:
“Equal parts delicate and crushing, they weave together strands of soaring post-rock with crashing cymbals, raw-throated roars, and monolithic riffs, beautifully staining the lot with brushstrokes of psychedelia”-Metal Sucks

“All the Sleep heritage mixed with the Neurosis one in a sapid and terrific mixture with something of Khanate in the vocal’s approach. There’s even something of the best math-rock (old Don Caballero, not the boring descendants). You see it’s not the usual “let’s doom as others did before us” style”-Forgotten Songs

“They are the soundtrack to the mass exodus of the last remnants of genetically engineered life-forms who were left for dead with an ark of a spaceship on a dying planet.”-Bronze God Music

“A sort of “where have you been all my life?” kind of record, Repressed Memories is simultaneously soothing and beautifully psychedelic. The minimal vocals belted out by drummer (Wud) are executed with such intensity that the presence of a mic may as well be just for show. Jason Michael Verdone’s guitar is stellar, weaving with Christopher Kauth’s bass—conjuring up images of space deserts and moon weed.”-Boston Dig

“No matter where I start, the fact remains the same – these guys will crush your skull. The ripping vocals make their seldom appearance from behind a thick bass and an ever escalating guitar, and that’s the way I like it. For one, I always found it hard to understand how a drummer can be on singing duty in a metal band, especially one pumping so much power as Wud here, but he handles it beautifully.”-Cult Metal

HIVELORDS

"Hivelords have created something truly wonderful on Cavern Apothecary. The overall feel of the album brings a real sense of dread; something very evil is brewing in Philadelphia. The ability to know when to push the vocals or guitars forward lead to a frighteningly good sound, one steeped in sludge and doom and drone. They are able to press all the right buttons at the appropriate time to unleash something so very cathartic. Cavern Apothecary is downright menacing, wicked, and majestic. Blackened sludge as it should be." -CVLT Nation
